CSTA Field Courses
|
Field Courses are off-site excursions designed to integrate science curriculum with a focus on the classroom and student. Field Courses require a fee above-and-beyond the regular conference registration fee. Enrollment is limited and open ONLY to registered, adult conference attendees, on a first-come basis. Space fills up fast, so it is highly recommended that you pre-register for Field Courses, as tickets may not be available for purchase on-site.
All Field Courses depart from and return to the front entrance of the San Jose Convention Center on San Carlos Street. You must arrive ten minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to avoid forfeiting your space. Times listed include travel time and are approximate.
Walking is required on some field expeditions. It is recommended that you wear good, sturdy walking shoes. Weather may change during the day for any Field Course and it is recommended that you dress in layers (especially for all-day outdoor activities), bring SPF 30 sunscreen, carry a day pack for your camera and personal belongings, and bring a light snack. Some courses include meals as noted; others allow for meals to be purchased separately by the attendee at the field course location.
