Description: Through Children's Discovery Museum's BioS.I.T.E. (Students Investigating Their Environment) program, over 900 San Jose students and their teachers are involved in a comprehensive riparian environmental science program, designed to build knowledge and process skills in science research, vividly demonstrating the relevance of science to their lives. In this session designed specifically for high school teachers, you will conduct water quality research tests at the Guadalupe River field study site, meet and interact with practicing watershed scientists, learn about the cross-age mentor training program, and see student and class projects showcasing BioSITE program highlights. You will also receive a copy of the brand new BioSITE Program Curriculum, be introduced to the overall scope and mission of this authentic field study program, and participate in real world action-science research! Participants should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for exploring the creek.
