Description:
This field course explores Santa Clara County's wine country and its geology. We'll stop at wineries and geological points of interest to examine what makes the wines of this region unique. Discussion will include geology, history, and activities applicable to California earth science framework content. Moderately strenuous hike in vineyard(s); stout shoes and layered clothing recommended. Vineyards include Savannah Chanelle, David Bruce, and Ridge Montebello, all located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. PLEASE NOTE: The bus route for this trip may include windy mountain roads. Please take necessary precautions if you are prone to motion sickness.
